Senior Engineer – Systematic Equity
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for an engineer who can take ownership of the platform that supports our equity investment process. This is a hands-on role that combines engineering with technical leadership. You are expected to write code, but also to take responsibility for how our systems run in production, how they are monitored and operated, and how the team works around them.
You have experience with cloud infrastructure and DevOps, and are comfortable making design decisions and setting technical direction within your area of responsibility. While technical experience is essential, we place great importance on personal qualities. We look for individuals who embody our core values: professionalism, humility, generosity, and curiosity. You are pragmatic, collaborative, and take ownership of the work in front of you. AI tools are part of daily engineering at Lynx — we expect you to use them effectively, and to have the judgment to know when their output holds up.
Required:
• Programming skills in Python or similar
• Experience with, or strong interest in, running services in production: monitoring, alerting, observability, and CI/CD
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS
Meriting:
• Experience taking technical lead responsibility, formally or informally
• Data engineering experience: ETL, data pipelines, and data quality
• Experience integrating external market data
• Background in finance (ideally systematic trading) or another regulated industry
• Experience setting up production and support routines in a small team
You are fluent in English and have the right to work in Sweden. The position is based at our office in central Stockholm.
About The Role
You will join the Systematic Equity team at a formative stage and own the platform our investment process depends on — not just keeping it running, but designing and deciding how it runs. You get the flexibility of a young team with the resources of an established firm behind you. As the strategy scales, so does the role. You will work closely with the researchers in the team, and what you build feeds directly into the investment process.
In practice, the core of the role is keeping trading robust and secure: monitoring, alerting, support routines, incident handling, and troubleshooting are your responsibility, as is designing and building the infrastructure that ties the equity systems together.
External market data is an important input to the investment process, and the role covers its integration, storage, and validation, including building the tools to monitor and control these flows. You will work on the data pipelines together with the researchers, who depend on solid, high-quality input data for their work.
You will also plan and coordinate technical work within the team, across internal stakeholders, and towards external vendors.
To apply, please submit your application no later than 17 August.
